Johnny Mercer wrote more famous songs than anyone in history, in any country. He wrote Moon River, Dream, Accentuate the Positive, Autumn Leaves, Something’s Gotta Give, I’m Old Fashioned, Skylark, That Old Black Magic, You Must Have Been a Beautiful Baby, Satin Doll, and hundreds more. Join ten of Ojai Valley’s most talented performers as they pay tribute to Mr. Mercer with Gregory Spaulding on piano and Michael Estwanik, founder of the American Songbok Today, a 501(c)(3), as host for the afternoon.

“Too Marvelous for Words” – a Johnny Mercer Tribute will be the ninth American Songwriter Tribute Concert by American Songbook Today, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, founded over 25 years ago in NYC by Michael Estwanik. Now located in lovely Ojai, CA, American Songbook Today is still led by Estwanik and run by a board of directors. Previous concerts have honored Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, Richard Rodgers & Lorenz Hart, George and Ira Gershwin, John Kander & Fred Ebb, Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim, and a special evening of “Songs for Peace.” The exceptionally talented performers in our concerts come from Ojai, Ventura County, and throughout the Los Angeles region.
