2024 Hanukkah Party with MJA – Minneapolis, MN

Celebrate Hanukkah with our community of diverse Minnesota Jews, partners, parents, and children. We’ll enjoy Hanukkah foods from traditions around the world, facilitate games and activities for kids and toddlers and build connection within our diverse local Jewish community.

Our Schedule for the Evening:

3:00 pm | Doors open, food and beverages are served and activities begin

4:00 pm | Short program with songs & symbolic candle lighting

5:00 pm | Say “shalom” and head home

What to Expect:

Enjoy a casual, family-friendly evening (kids welcome) centered around building community and connection. We’ll have name tags to help break the ice, a brief music program with songs from Jewish communities around the world, and a buffet of traditional Hanukkah foods like tostones, scallion pancakes and more. Our food will be dairy/pareve from local restaurants provided by MJA. We’ll also have an area with games and activities for people of all ages to enjoy.

Who It’s For:
Our annual Hanukkah party is a time for Jewish people of color and diverse backgrounds to come together in community with one another and their close family connections. MJA is focused on connecting Jews who identify as Black, Indigenous, Asian, Latino/a, Mizrachi, or Sephardi, or who belong to a multiracial family.

About the Multiracial Jewish Alliance:

We are a non-profit, volunteer-run organization focused on connecting Jewish individuals and families who identify as Black, Indigenous, Asian, Latino/a, Mizrachi, or Sephardi, or multiracial through Jewish experiences, celebrations and community building. The Multiracial Jewish Alliance (MJA) was created to recognize the multitude of Jewish identity and experience in Minnesota, the many paths that lead people to Judaism, and the unique challenges faced by Jews who live at the intersections of racial and cultural identities. We host events and participate in community advocacy that uplifts our mission of a more diverse and inclusive future for the Minnesota Jewish community.
