Featuring Adriana Repetto, Carrie Cheron, Randy McGee, Steven Lauterwasser

LIVE and LIVE STREAMED: FRIDAY, December 20, 2024 7:30 p.m.

Live in-person and live streamed from the stunning Ripley Chapel at First Congregational Church, Winchester. Please join us for a delightful and poignant evening of seasonal vocal music featuring four of Boston’s most exciting performers: Adriana Repetto, soprano; Carrie Cheron, mezzo; Randy McGee, tenor; Steven Lauterwasser, bass. From beautiful chants to gorgeous motets, from classic repertoire to haunting contemporary carols, these four are sure to bring warmth, beauty, and mystery to a cold winter’s night.

The program includes Poulenc’s exhilarating “Hodie, Christus Natus Est,” James MacMillan’s stunning O Radiant Dawn, William Byrd’s elegant O Beata and O Magnum Mysterium, and Praetorius’ unearthly Es ist ein Ros entsprungen, along with enjoyable jazz harmony arrangements of holiday favorites.

Adriana Repetto: Thomas Garvey of the Hub Review describes Ms. Repetto’s voice as having a “melting bloom.” Upcoming appearances include The Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors (Boston), and an evening of opera arias and ensembles with the Boston Bel Canto Opera (Cambridge).

Carrie Cheron: Ms. Cheron is celebrated internationally for having “the voice of an angel.” Praised as “consoling and soulful,” for her “mystifying simplicity,” she is a regular soloist with and member of Emmanuel Music, Skylark Vocal Ensemble, Boston Baroque, and Lorelei Ensemble.

Randy McGee: Dr. McGee is an active performer, teacher and conductor based in the Boston area. His credits include the Bach Cantata Series with internationally-acclaimed Emmanuel Music and Craig Smith, Grammy-nominated Boston Baroque, and the Handel and Haydn Society.

Steven Lauterwasser: Mr. Lauterwasser is a soloist, chamber musician, and conductor specializing in renaissance polyphony and modern art music. For nearly a decade, he sang at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Berkeley as a soloist/substitute director. Back in the Boston area, he now sings regularly with the First Congregational Church of Winchester.
