Music for William Eggleston’s Stranded In Canton: J. Spaceman & John Coxon fundraising concert caps off a day of free live music.

WYXR’s Raised By Sound Fest features free live music all day long that culminates with a fundraising concert in the intimate surroundings of Crosstown Theater. All proceeds go to WYXR, a non-profit, community radio station.

An exceptionally rare performance of Music for William Eggleston’s Stranded In Canton: J. Spaceman & John Coxon of Spiritualized. Bringing to life the raw and evocative imagery of Memphis captured in William Eggleston’s cult film, the performance by J Spaceman and John Coxon promises to be a transcendent experience. “’Stranded in Canton’ is autobiographical, existential, minimalist, and over-the-top,” describes Robert Gordon, who co-produced the film and hosts a weekly show on WYXR, capturing the essence of Eggleston’s portrayal of 1970s Memphis. “It’s a world you’ve not known.” This performance is happening in only three other cities – London, LA and New York City.
