Join Tomorrow Bookstore for a poetry performance by Jesse Nathan, Derek Mong, and Isabella Mansfield

Join Tomorrow Bookstore for a poetry performance evening with three incredible, award-winning poets. Tickets are pay-what-you-can with a suggested price of $10 for this event. This helps to fund the costs of programming and pays authors, poets, performers, and moderators.

Each poet will perform their works for 20 minutes each. After the show, you’ll be able purchase and/or get copies of their collections signed.

Jesse Nathan’s debut collection of poems, Eggtooth, won the 2024 New Writers Award, and was a finalist for the Nossrat Yassini Poetry Prize, the Golden Poppy, and the Northern California Book Award. His poems appear in the Paris Review, the New Republic, Kenyon Review, and the New York Review of Books. Nathan grew up in northern California and rural Kansas. He teaches literature at UC Berkeley and lives now in Oakland.

Derek Mong is the author of three poetry collections from Saturnalia Books—Other Romes, The Identity Thief, and When the Earth Flies into the Sun (2024)—and a chapbook, The Ego and the Empiricist, from Two Sylvias Press. His poems, essays, and translations have appeared widely: the LA Times, the Boston Globe, the Kenyon Review, Pleiades, Free Inquiry, and the New England Review. He and his wife, Anne O. Fisher, received the Cliff Becker Translation Award for The Joyous Science: Selected Poems of Maxin Amelin (White Pine Press). Together they run the literary journal, At Length. A contributing editor at Zócalo Public Square, he lives with his family in Indiana where he chairs the English Department at Wabash College.

Isabella J Mansfield (she/her) writes about anxiety, intimacy, and body image both generally and as a woman with a disability. A two-time Pushcart Prize nominee, two-time Best of the Net Nominee and a Write Bloody McCarthy Prize Honorable Mention, Isabella is always looking for ways to bring a little humor into her deeply personal poems, and is almost never sorry to make you cry.
