WHAT: CKC ATL: THE POP OUT + TALIAH WAAJID BRAND EXPERIENCE (Curls, Kinks and Culture) is a fun celebration of Natural Beauty, Natural Hair, and Art that is filled with fun experiences for people of all ages, races, backgrounds and more! There will be unique vendors with hair, skin & beauty care, fashion, live-art, jewelry, one-of-a-kind items and more. We have a main stage featuring all-day LIVE music entertainment from the hottest local underground artists. Hungry? Thirsty? No problem, our curated list of food and drink vendors are there to provide an array of flavorful delicacies, no matter what mood you’re in.

Join us for Morning Yoga before the event kicks off. Get your hair done at one of the hair stations or barber station. Listen to captivating panels. We have so many more fun experiences ranging from interactive stage performances, live art performances, fun games and crafts for all and so much more. General Admission is FREE for ALL but you must RSVP.

Presented by Taliah Waajid, a beauty industry maverick with a strong reputation for hosting great events. Taliah Waajid is also the presenter of the World Natural Hair, Healthy Lifestyle Event, held in Atlanta, GA every Spring. It brings over 30,000 attendees and is now in its 23rd year.

FAQs

Is CKC inside or outside this year?

This year CKC will be inside of the venue.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

No, anyone can attend. However, if you want to visit our Curls, Drinks + Culture Bar, you will need to be 21+ and provide proper, valid identification.

Will there be an opportunity to be an exhibitor?

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

We encourage our friends, community and family to take MARTA or use a rideshare app (Uber or Lyft). You can visit itsmarta.com to plan your trip ahead of time. The College Park train station is only minutes away!

What can I bring into the event (as an attendee)?

• One (1) unopened water bottle per person
• Cameras are allowed
• Backpacks and Bags are allowed by may be subject to search upon entry
• Strollers are allowed
• No outside food or drinks (other than the one water bottle)
• No alcohol (we’ve got a bar!)

What’s the refund policy?

No refunds for attendees holding VIP tickets. Tickets are transferrable.

Vendor deposits are non-refundable. Thirty (30) days before the event, September 27, 2024, vendors are unable to receive a refund for any funds paid. Vendors may be eligible for transferrable monies to go towards the next event.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, we can check you in from our devices without it.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

Yes. If you have a paid VIP ticket.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn’t match the person who attends?

Yes.

Is this a Rain or Shine event?

Yes.

I know that kids are welcome, but will there be activities for them?

Yes! We suggest early arrival for families with children.

DISCLAIMER CLAUSE: (Taliah Waajid Brand and Curls, Kinks & Culture), Its members, directors, officers, employees, agents, representatives and/or volunteers (hereafter “TWB + CKC”) are not responsible for any injury, loss or damage of any kind sustained by any person while participating in the Curls, Kinks & Culture Festival (the “CKC Festival”), including injury, loss or damage which might be caused by the negligence of Curls, Kinks & Culture Festival.

PHOTOGRAPHY + VIDEOGRAPHY RELEASE: I, as the subject of photographs/video taken on this date, hereby consent and authorize the use and production of the photographs/videos by TWB + CKC. These same photographs/video may be used for any purpose including, but not limited to, promotion, advertising and public relations without further compensation or consent.

ASSUMPTION OF RISKS: In consideration of my participation in the CKC Festival, I acknowledge that I am aware of the possible risks, dangers and hazards associated with my participation in the CKC Festival, (including the possible risk of severe or fatal injury to myself or others). These risks include but are not limited to the following:

The risks associated with travel to and from location(s) to be visited during the CKC Festival, including transportation provided by commercial, private and/or public motor vehicles;

Intoxication and/or alcohol poisoning from the alcohol I consume whether voluntarily or through coercion;

The possibility of bodily injury (broken bones and soft tissue damage) including dental damages from falling down, being knocked down or being involved in a physical confrontation whether caused by myself or someone else;

The risks associated with returning to my residence.

INDEMNIFICATION AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY: In return for TWB + CKC allowing me to voluntarily participate in the CKC Festival and related activities, I agree:

TO ASSUME AND ACCEPT ALL RISKS arising out of, associated with or related to my participating in the CKC Festival;

TO BE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY INJURY, LOSS OR DAMAGE which I might sustain while participating in the CKC Festival;

TO HOLD HARMLESS AND INDEMNIFY TWB + CKC

a) From any and all liability for any damage to the personal property of, or personal injury to, any third party resulting from my participation in the CKC Festival and all related activities; including., but not limited to any and all activities caused by the negligence of myself or any third party; and

b) From any and all claims, demands, actions and costs which might arise out of my participation in the CKC Festival.

PROTECTION OF PRIVACY: The personal information requested on this form will only be used for the purpose of implementing this waiver and will not be shared with any other entity. By RSVP’ing to this event, purchasing a ticket or leaving a deposit for a booth, we will forward you information on upcoming events and special consents via email. You may unsubscribe at any time.

ACKNOWLEDGMENT: I acknowledge that I have read this agreement, that I have executed this agreement voluntarily, and that this agreement is to be binding upon myself, my heirs, executors, administrators and representatives, in the event of my death or incapacity.
