Project Information:

We’ll work to clear the upper end of Horsetail Creek Trail, which has been closed since the 2017 gorge fire. This trail is heavily damaged and often we’ll be following flagging tape to determine where the trail was located.

Hiking information:

We’ll drive to the upper trailhead and hike down to our worksite. As work progresses week-to-week we’ll be hiking longer distances. The grade is fairly gentle at the top but becomes steeper the farther down we get. I’ll include more details in the pre-event email I’ll send 48 hours before the event.

You should plan to participate in this trail party for its entirety. For safety reasons, please do not arrive late or expect to be able to leave early.

What to bring:

• Plenty of water
• Snacks/lunch
• Work gloves if you have them (loaner gloves available)
• Any medications or emergency supplies you may need
• Sunscreen + insect repellent
• A pack to bring all of this with you on trail
• TKO provides all tools and personal protective equipment (hard hats, gloves, glasses)

What to wear:

• Boots (Please wear something sturdy that will protect your toes from sharp tools)
• Long sleeved shirts and pants
• Rain gear, insulating layers, sun protection, etc. as appropriate for the weather
