Join us for an evening of exciting Jazz with Jovino Santos Neto, Kelsey Mines & Jeff Busch.

A master pianist, composer, arranger, flutist, and player of a multitude of other instruments including the melodica and the accordion, Jovino Santos Neto is one of the top Brazilian musicians working today. Currently based in Seattle, Washington, he has throughout his career been closely affiliated with the Brazilian master Hermeto Pascoal. He was an integral part of Pascoal’s group from 1977-1992 when he fine-tuned his artistry and co-produced several legendary records. His relationship with Hermeto continues as his mentor figures prominently in his recent recordings. Jovino is a three-time Latin Grammy nominee (2004, 2006 and 2009).

He has had his compositions performed by many ensembles, big bands and orchestras worldwide.

The trio will consist of Jovino Santos Neto on piano, melodica and flute, Kelsey Mines on bass, and Jeff Busch on drums and percussion.

*This concert is a ticketed event and will begin promptly at 5pm and last until 6:30-7pm, with a brief intermission. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early for check in and seating.

*No children under 6 years old. Ages 6-12 are free. **If you plan to bring children please notify us beforehand so we can plan accordingly – otherwise we may not have enough seats.

Neto’s playing mostly piano for the session, but also brings in a bit of melodica, flute, and accordion — further expanding the colors in the tunes, as do some of the album’s great guest performers — who include Joyce, Hermeto Pascoal, Hamilton De Holanda, and Marcos Amorim!
