Performer Bios:

❤ Dixie De La Tour is a sexual folklorist, professional storyteller, podcaster, teacher, storytelling coach, community builder and most of all, a facilitator. She is also the Founder, Curator & Host of the Award-winning storytelling series, Bawdy Storytelling (“The Moth for Pervs” – LA Weekly, “The Original Sex and Storytelling series” – Playgirl) that’s been lauded for its transformational, relatable, empowering performances. Dixie has been a featured storyteller for Risk!, the National Storytelling Conference, has emcee’d Leather and Sexuality Events and Conferences, and in addition to story and public speaking coaching for her own Bawdy series, she story-coaches for events such as TEDx, Women in Technology, and offers How to Be Fascinating: Dixie’s Secret System for Brilliant Storytelling and How to Be Bawdy: Dixie’s Secret System for Uncensored Storytelling.

Ultimately, this story-loving southerner is passionate about storytelling’s ability to keep people safe, reduce social anxiety and connect us with strangers. Dixie has also been Sainted by the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence (“Saint Kiss & Make You Tell”) for her work to reduce stigma and eliminate shame, and in her free time, she enjoys being a Muppet. ❤ Allison Moon is the author of five books including the instant classic sex-ed guide Girl Sex 101. Inspired by her sex education work, Moon writes screenplays, stage plays, and teleplays that explore the complexities of identity, sexuality and eroticism, particularly when interfacing with technology. She has a degree in Neuroscience and Theatre from Oberlin College and is an MFA candidate in Creative Writing for the Performing Arts at UC Riverside (’24).

Her play ZERO STATE was an O’Neill Semifinalist (2022) and part of the Bay St. Theater’s 2022 Title Wave New Works Festival.
THE TIP OF THE TONGUE was produced in the 2021 Fresh Fruit Festival of LGBT Plays and received a reading at the Come Inside Theater Festival in Portland, OR.
She received two special recognitions from the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival for writing and directing an adaptation of LYSISTRATA.

Moon’s books have received awards including The Golden Crown Literary Award, Rainbow Book Awards, and Bi Book Awards, as well as starred reviews from Publisher’s Weekly.
She was a Lambda Literary Emerging LGBT Writers resident.

❤ Sassafras (Lowrey) Patterdale is a celebrated author whose queer and kinky books (Roving Pack, A Little Queermas Carol, Leather Ever After, and Lost Boi) have been honored by the American Library Association, the Lambda Literary Foundation, the International Leather Association- Writing Awards. Sassafras’ work regularly appears in leading magazines/publications, and Sassafras has taught queer storytelling workshops at colleges, conferences, bookstores, festivals, and squats from Atlanta to Berlin to NYC to Oakland to Amsterdam. ❤ Ben Colburn is a long time supporter of Bawdy Storytelling. This is his third time appearing with Bawdy since his debut in 2011. When he’s not getting into more story-worthy sexy time shenanigans, he spends his days getting crafty, unapologetically doting on his three gorgeous cats, and working as a local physician. In the past, his stories have made audiences clutch their pearls and even cry. But today, he is back to share a tale from a new and unexpected chapter of his sexuality.
