Festa Siciliano with Sal at Enoteca La Storia – Los Gatos, CA
Join Joe “Joey C” Cannistraci and Sal Graffagnino for an unforgettable evening celebrating the food, wine, and traditions of their shared Sicilian heritage.
Although Joe was born in New York and raised in New Jersey, all four of his grandparents immigrated from Sicily. They passed down not only family recipes, but also a deep appreciation for the island’s culture and traditions that remains an important part of his life today.
Sal’s story begins in Palermo. Born and raised in Sicily, he later moved to California to work alongside his mother’s first cousin, Salvatore Ferrante, founder of Sicilia in Bocca in Morgan Hill. Sicilian food isn’t something Sal learned – it has simply always been part of who he is.
Together, Joe and Sal will guide you on a regional journey across Sicily through a family-style dinner featuring authentic dishes inspired by Palermo, Trapani, Petralia Sottana, Siracusa, and beyond, thoughtfully paired with a selection of exceptional Sicilian wines.
The menu will feature beloved Sicilian classics including:
• Panelle
• Joe’s Grandmother’s Caponata
• Pasta alla Norma
• Pistachio Pesto Lasagna
• Involtini di Pesce Spada (swordfish stuffed with prawns, pine nuts, breadcrumbs, raisins, parsley, garlic, and lemon zest)
• Agnello Messinese (traditional grilled lamb)
• …and additional regional specialties throughout the evening.
More than a wine dinner, this is an opportunity to experience Sicily through its food, wines, stories, and family traditions – shared by two people who have lived the culture they’re celebrating.
