The cherry on top of this fantastic adventure is to swim in the pure fresh water of a Cenote in the middle of the jungle. Cenotes are sacred places for Mayans, and were considered to be the entrance to the underworld. Cenotes were also the main source of fresh water for this ancient civilization.
