The Lateran Palace: Former Residence of the Popes - Rome, Italy
  • Anywhere

EXPERIENCE

The Lateran Palace is located in one of the historic districts of Rome, near the Basilica of San Giovanni in Laterano; with the Baptistery and the Sanctuary of the Holy Stairs it constituted a real citadel where the Popes, for about 1000 years, acted as direct spokesmen of the Christian Faith and at the same time administered the difficult political issues linked to the city and political relations with other European States.

It will be a walk on approximately 3000 m² of walkable surface during which participants will be able to admire and enjoy the beauty of the sixteenth-century frescoes, the artisan finishing of baroque tapestries and many other high-antique works from the historical period from the sixteenth to the Nineteenth century.
