EXPERIENCE

Immerse yourself in ancient Egypt on a half-day tour of Luxor’s West Bank, followed by an unforgettable visit to Karnak Temple for the Sound and Light Show. Explore at your own pace with a private Egyptologist guide, driver, and car at your disposal.

After pickup from your hotel in Luxor, head to the West Bank of Luxor to visit the Valley of the Kings. See the beautiful tombs of the kings, some of which still retain the original paint on their decorated walls.

Hear about ancient Egyptian beliefs of the afterlife and the importance of these elaborate burial chambers from your Egyptologist guide. Although the tombs have been long emptied of their golden treasures, the carved walls and ceilings remain a sight to behold.

Continue to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, which was built during the reign of Pharaoh Hatshepsut, the only female pharaoh in ancient Egyptian times. The temple is a masterpiece of ancient architecture with three massive terraces rising from the desert floor into the cliffs of Deir el-Bahari.

Move on to the Colossi of Memnon to see massive sandstone statues and the ruins of the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III. Still standing since 1350 BC, these towering monuments stand tall, gazing across the Nile River to the East Bank where the ancient city of Thebes once stood.

Before returning to your hotel, stop for lunch at a local restaurant to recharge your batteries and perhaps try the local tea. As this is a private tour, you can choose to be dropped off back at your hotel or at another location on the East Bank of Luxor.

In the evening, your guide returns to join you for the Sound and Light Show at Karnak Temple. The Sound and Light Show is an immersive, multimedia experience that takes you on a journey through the history of Karnak Temple. See the impressive temple grounds lit up at night and take a step back into ancient Egyptian civilization.

After the show, your private car and driver will be waiting to return you to your hotel or drop you off somewhere else in Luxor. Your guide will be happy to recommend places for dinner and entertainment in Luxor.
