They also constitute a suitable substrate for the growth of many underwater plant and animal organisms, beginning with marine algae, sponges, mammals, molluscs, crustaceans, mollusks, corals, reptiles, mammals, and habitats in the Mediterranean Sea. One of the distinguishing characteristics of the biodiversity of this area is the meadows.
