2024 Howard University Homecoming Week

In 2024, the festivities will take place from October 13-20, culminating in the historic Homecoming football game on October 19th, where the Howard Bison will face off against Tennessee State University. This event is set to mark the 100th anniversary of Howard’s first homecoming game, adding a significant milestone to the celebration.

Following this, the 8th annual HU Bar Crawl will take place on October 18th, sponsored by Maker’s Mark. This event, known as the largest Black bar crawl in the world, attracts over 2,500 participants and features drink specials, open bars at select locations, and various souvenir giveaways.

Scheduled for October 19th at 1 p.m. EDT in Greene Stadium, this game will see Howard University take on the Tennessee State University Tigers. Post-game celebrations continue with the Blaque Mecca Block Party at Metro Bar DC, an 11,000 square foot outdoor venue featuring DJs, cocktails, food trucks, and socializing opportunities for alumni and friends.

Other notable events include the “A Brunch of Friends” Hangover Brunch on October 20th at The Park on 14th, known for its vibrant atmosphere and delicious food. Also on the schedule is the 5th Annual Karaoke Brunch at the Cambria Hotel Riverfront, offering stunning views and a lively environment for music lovers and brunch enthusiasts alike.
