Filmmaker, photographer, and fellow Brooklynite Bethany Jacobson presents Ode to a Cemetery—a meditative journey through Brooklyn’s historic Green-Wood Cemetery. Over the course of four seasons, Jacobson captures the spirit of these verdant pastoral grounds with a cinematic approach that ruminates on the transience of life and the importance of nature to the human spirit. Reflecting on her imagery are the poetic words of Cole Swensen, creating a lyrical interplay between image and text. Joining Jacobson for this pre-Halloween celebration of the cemetary is Green-Wood’s very own VP of Landscape Design, Art Presson, who also contributed to the book. Join us for a visual presentation and discussion, followed by a Q&A and book signing.
