Round Pond Estate, nestled in the heart of Napa Valley’s Rutherford region, has a rich history dating back to the 1980’s. The MacDonnell Family acquired the property in 1983, initially focusing on growing premium wine grapes for other renowned wineries. In 2002, their passion for winemaking led them to establish their own label and in 2007 opened a state-of-the-art winery. Today, the estate continues to be family-owned and operated, maintaining its commitment to producing world-class wines.

The estate’s commitment to quality and sustainability has been evident from the start. They implemented organic and sustainable farming practices, ensuring the preservation of their land for future generations. In 2007, Round Pond Estate opened its state-of-the-art winery, allowing for greater control over the winemaking process.

Round Pond Estate is particularly known for its exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon which has acquired critical acclaim. The winery’s dedication to crafting small-lot, handcrafted wines has resulted in numerous accolades and high ratings from wine critics. Their unique approach to produce wines includes using gravity-flow techniques and meticulous barrel selection.

Scott Reed, Director of National & International Sales for Round Pond Estate:

Scott Reed joined Round Pond Estate in 2015 as Midwest Regional Sales Manager before securing the position of Director of National & International Sales in 2020. Before joining Round Pond Estate, Reed spent time with other wineries and importers including C. Mondavi & Sons, Ionia Atlantic Imports and Casa Vinicola Zonin along with past experience in the wholesale and retail industries in Finger Lakes wine region.
