Darrell Scott is a legend in the bluegrass and country communities. He brings his string band to Hickory for a special night of music.

The immensely gifted multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Darrell Scott is bringing his acoustic band to entertain us. Recently named Songwriter of the year by ASCAP and NSAI, Darrell continues to put out brilliant music. You probably know Darrell from his time with Robert Plant in The Band of Joy or from the hit songs he’s written for some of the most famous artists you love. Faith Hill and Travis Tritt both covered Darrells Its a Great Day to be Alive and soared to the top of the charts. “Long Time Gone” was a huge hit for The Chicks. Darrells music captures all of lifes joys and sorrows with sincere reflection and thats why his music touches us so deeply.

Darrell will be joined by a truly gifted band of well known artists: Matt Flinner on banjo, Shad Cobb on violin and Bryn Davies on bass. Each is an exceptional player well suited to elevate Darrells picking on any string instrument.

For this special show, Birdsong moves to Hickorys Drendel Auditorium in The Salt Block.
