This special concert highlights the remarkable talents of our new professors and the exceptional artistry of our FIU Wind Ensemble.

Join us for an extraordinary evening as the FIU Wind Ensemble (FIUWE), conducted by Dr. Brenton Alston, proudly launches its 2024-25 concert season, “Kaleidoscope.” This opening concert is a grand celebration, marking the exciting appointments of two distinguished new professors in the Wind, Brass, and Percussion (WBP) area.

We are thrilled to welcome Darryl L. Baker, FIU’s new Director of Athletic Bands, as our esteemed guest conductor. Also featuring prominently in this celebration is Omar Lateef, our new Visiting Professor of Trumpet, who will dazzle the audience as the guest soloist on Arutiunian’s Trumpet Concerto.
