Don’t miss this upcoming 2024 Local Event in San Francisco, CA. Happening on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Bernal Heights Branch Library. Doors open at 6:00 PM.

Join the party, meet the filmmakers whose films won awards this season, see the film voted the favorite by the 2024 audiences.

Join us for our final screening of the season including a special presentation of the awards to our award-winning filmmakers including the Good Life Audience Award —voted on by this season’s attendees. We’ll wrap up the evening with an after party to celebrate our 21-year track record of great film, friends and community.

The Good life Audience Award winner is…

STARLING directed by Mitra Shahidi. Congratulations, Mitra!

Mitra Shahidi is an Iranian-American story artist, director and screenwriter who was born and raised in Istanbul/Turkey. Her passion for art and storytelling began at a young age and and are influenced by her rich cultural heritage. Upon graduation from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, she worked as an art director and story artist in games, film and advertising and joined Pixar Animation Studios in 2017. Since joining Pixar, she has worked on several films, including the Academy Award-nominated “Luca” and the upcoming “Elio.” Her role as a story artist involves visualizing the script and creating storyboards that help the director and other team members understand how the film will look and feel. Her love for animation greatly influences her live-action filmmaking as well. Shahidi currently lives in the Bay Area with her family.
