Open House for families with children 5 years and younger with disabilities

Join us for a “Special Times for Special Families” Open House for young children with disabilities, 0-5 years old, and their families. Exhibits have been designed with Universal design concepts in mind, although not every exhibit is accessible for every disability.

Art and sensory play activities encourage hands-on experimentation and play that build skills. Exhibits are designed for small hands and bodies and foster social interaction.

The museum is level-entry with two ADA accessible restrooms. An elevator serves the second level parking garage across the street and there are ramps at the ends of the sidewalks. The event is FREE to participating families, however advance tickets are recommended. Please reserve only one ticket per child. Walk-ups are admitted only with space available.

Habitot’s Little Town is a STEM-embedded hands-on discovery play experience that will inspire a new generation! Be a pizza chef, shop in the pretend grocery store, become a firefighter, and put out the “flames” in the burning house. The New Infant-Toddler area and our Wiggle Wall (climbing structure) are back! Early childhood STEM activities throughout!

Nearby in the Maker Lab, children can build their own rocket ships and test their designs in our air-pressurized Rocket Launcher.

There’s even more play and learning in our Art Studio, an Imagination Station for more maker projects, and a Sweet Stars area just for babies.
