Join the CIT Veterans Program as we hold a ceremony welcoming in art by a Cowlitz Tribal member to be displayed in our DuPont Office.

This art is in collaboration with Alaska Airlines for their Fallen Soldier Cart.

What is a Fallen Soldier Cart?

These dedicated carts, designed and crafted by Alaska’s Maintenance and Engineering department, are a solemn and respectful symbol that transports the remains of fallen service members, ensuring they are treated with the utmost dignity and respect. Alaska has dedicated this special cart for shared use among all airlines, as a gesture of respect and remembrance.

In 2011, the Fallen Soldier Program was created to ensure military protocols are followed when handling the remains of fallen service members being flown to their final resting place on Alaska Airlines. The cart plays a pivotal role during the dignified ceremonies of loading and unloading the remains of fallen soldiers onto aircraft.

Event Info:

We will be gathering at the DuPont office for light food and drink refreshments. This is an opportunity for us to recognize the impact the veterans in our community have. While the art is hosted at the DuPont office it will serve as a reminder that we not only recognize but celebrate those that have sacrificed so much for our way of life.

The Patriot Guard Riders will be accompanying the art work as it travels to the office location. The event will start at 12 giving people the opportunity to arrive as the Patriot Guard and art work arrive at 2pm. Following the arrival there will be the posting of colors by the Honor Guard, remarks, and time enough for people to view the work.
