The Music in the Chapel series showcases an eclectic range of performers and local musicians. Immerse yourself in the acoustic and visual charms of Lakewood’s chapel for these unique concert experiences, right in the heart of the city.

About Our Musicians

New-classical crossover duo, The OK Factor is cellist Olivia Diercks and violinist Karla Colahan. Based in Minneapolis, Olivia and Karla are passionate about composing, performing, and teaching, creating unique and unexpected musical experiences for their audiences all across the Midwest. The almost telepathic way they respond to one another is palpable to the audiences they capture during performances, as is their spontaneity and joy. Organic and genuine, their original compositions and arrangements feel both comfortingly familiar and uniquely fresh, and have been described as “genre-bending” (Julie Amacher, MPR) and “pure magic” (Wausau Pilot & Review).

Is this concert all-ages?

Yes, all ages are welcome.

What are my transportation and parking options?

Free parking is available along roads inside the cemetery, including reserved spaces for handicap parking near the chapel. There is a Metro Transit bus stop just outside of Lakewood’s front gates at 36th & Hennepin Ave. It is within walking distance from the chapel (1-2 blocks). If you come by bicycle, lock your bike at the racks near the cemetery’s main gates.

What can I bring into the event?

There is a coat rack available, and you may bring a water bottle. (Also, there is a water dispenser available inside the building.) Please do not bring pets, food or drinks other than water.

What’s the refund policy?

Full refunds can be issued up to 24 hours before the event starts. You can either request a refund through Eventbrite or email events@lakewoodcemetery.org.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, printed tickets are not required. We will have a guest list at the door.
