Fairfax County NAACP 2024 Freedom Fund Gala – Tysons, VA

We are thrilled to invite you to the Fairfax County NAACP’s 2024 Freedom Fund Gala, “Together We Rise,” set for November 2, 2024, at the Tysons Marriott (Grand Ballroom) in Tysons Corner, Virginia, from 5:30 – 9:30 PM. This signature event is our most significant fundraiser of the year, bringing together a diverse group of members, friends, and supporters for an inspiring evening of celebration and recognition.

The Gala offers a chance to honor those who have made a positive impact in our community through their dedication and efforts. The funds raised during this event are crucial in supporting our various initiatives, including:

Economic Development and Empowerment: Promoting racial equity through wealth and community asset building, and supporting small business growth with matched savings accounts.

Education and Scholarships: Collaborating with FCPS schools, particularly those with large minority populations, to ensure equal opportunities in education, foster academic success, and empower minority parents. We also award scholarships to local graduating high school students.

Health Awareness: Addressing healthcare disparities among people of color, promoting access to better healthcare, and addressing chronic diseases.

Political Action: Empowering voters through awareness, training, and support for registration, education, and election protection, with a nonpartisan program to increase electoral participation among African Americans and people of color.

Tezlyn Figaro
Founder of the award-winning Tezlyn Figaro Communications Group, Tezlyn Figaro offers expert communications solutions, political strategy, and crisis management for top leaders. As a certified Florida Supreme Court Civil Mediator and trainer, she also designs customized training programs.

Tezlyn is a powerful public speaker and the host of the “Straight Shot, No Chaser” podcast on Charlamagne Tha God’s Black Effect Podcast Network. She frequently appears on The Breakfast Club, Revolt Television, and major news outlets like Fox News, MSNBC, and The Hill.

As the creator of the ‘Push the Line’ nonpartisan political training program, Tezlyn has trained hundreds of political candidates and organizers. She has also served as a senior public policy consultant for Attorney Benjamin Crump, contributing to high-profile cases like George Floyd and the Flint water crisis.

Tezlyn’s work has earned her numerous accolades, including the 2023 ‘Champion of Change’ award by the UCLA Black Law Students Association and the 2023 U.S. Department of Commerce Minority Entrepreneur of the Year.
