As an activation for Good Jeans & Brown Suga, join us for an unforgettable evening of storytelling, music, and poetry as we celebrate Black art in all its richness and beauty. This event features expressive actress and vocalist Marlo Vashti, with a captivating jazz performance that intertwines vocal renditions with choreo poems from Ntozake Shange’s iconic work, For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf. Adding depth and emotion with every note, musical virtuoso Native will thread the story through each performance on the piano. Together, they create a dynamic fusion of storytelling and sound, celebrating the resilience, joy, and beauty of the Black experience.
