Mary will be joined in conversation by Brandon Taylor, critically acclaimed author of the novels Real Life and The Late Americans. After the talk and audience Q&A, Mary will also be signing copies of The Goodbye Process.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Mary Jones is the author of the national bestselling short story collection The Goodbye Process. Her writing has appeared in many journals including Electric Literature’s Recommended Reading, Subtropics, Alaska Quarterly Review, EPOCH, Gay Mag, Epiphany, Brevity and elsewhere. The recipient of a summer prose fellowship from The University of Arizona Poetry Center, her work has been cited as notable in The Best American Essays and appeared in The Best Microfiction 2022. She holds an MFA from Bennington College and teaches fiction writing at UCLA Extension. Originally from Upstate New York, she lives in Los Angeles.

Brandon Taylor is the author of the novels The Late Americans and Real Life, which was shortlisted for the Booker Prize and the National Book Critics Circle John Leonard Prize, and named a New York Times Book Review Editors’ Choice and a Science + Literature Selected Title by the National Book Foundation. His collection Filthy Animals, a national bestseller, was awarded The Story Prize and shortlisted for the Dylan Thomas Prize.
