Bourbon Tasting on the River, with O.H. Ingram River-Aged Whiskey – Prospect, KY

Watch the sun set over the Ohio river, as we enjoy a tasting of river-aged whiskey from O.H. Ingram!

Ingram River Aged is the only whiskey aged inside a floating barrelhouse on the Mississippi River. Here, their whiskies are exposed to the constant motion of the river along with its intense humidity and microclimate. This has a profound effect on the spirit and produces an extraordinary final product.

Surrounded by rolling hills and corn fields, Columbus, Kentucky sits below the confluence of the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers. This is an especially wide and turbulent section of water, making it the perfect place to river age whiskey.

Their mash bills are crafted and distilled at Green River Distilling Co. in Owensboro, KY. It’s Ingram’s recipe, but they use Green River’s “kitchen”. From there, the newly-filled barrels are shipped directly to O.H. Ingram’s floating barrelhouse the next day.

We’ll be meeting at Shady Glen, a private club in Prospect, Kentucky. If the weather is nice, we’ll do our tasting on the patio, while watching the sun set over the Ohio River.

Of course we’ll have tasty food and awesome door prizes, as always.
