P&T Knitwear is pleased to welcome back Alice Kaltman to celebrate the release of her graphic memoir, Alice’s Big Book of Mistakes: a “tender and hilarious exploration of the self, a necessary probing into who we are and how we move forward” from our faux pas, blunders, and slip-ups. (Robert James Russell, author of the forthcoming graphic memoir Hard Body)

Alice will be joined in conversation by David Byron Queen, founder and publisher of Word West. Along with a discussion and audience Q&A, there will be live music from singer-songwriter Jon Patrick Walker. Alice will also be signing copies of Alice’s Big Book of Mistakes.

  • This is a ticketed in-store event with limited amphitheater-style seating
  • Cost of a $5 general admission ticket can be applied towards your purchase of the featured event book or any product in our café the night of an event.
  • We encourage all guests to wear masks.
  • The talk will be followed by a book signing. Books signed at P&T Knitwear events must be purchased from P&T Knitwear. If you would like a signed copy and cannot attend the event, we’re happy to take your pre-order. We ship most places!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Alice Kaltman is the author of the story collections Staggerwing and Almost Deadly Almost Good; and the novels The Tantalizing Tale of Grace Minnaugh, Wavehouse, and Dawg Towne. Her fiction has been nominated for Best American Short Stories, Best Small Fictions, and the Pushcart Prize, and her articles on mental mealth and parenting have appeared nationally. Alice splits her time between Brooklyn and Montauk, NY, where she lives with her husband, the sculptor Daniel Wiener; and Ollie the Wonder Dog.

ABOUT THE MODERATOR

David Byron Queen was raised in Ohio. He has an MFA from the University of Montana, where he was a Truman Capote Fellow. He teaches with the Writing Workshops and the Hudson Valley Writers Center. His work has appeared in VICE, Paste, Split Lip Magazine, Vol. 1 Brooklyn, Hobart, McSweeney’s, and elsewhere. He divides his time between New York and Montana.
