This event is the perfect chance to connect with fellow professionals and honor the EXcelevating Crown Jewels, domestic violence survivors who are as precious and invaluable as jewels in a crown, all within a sophisticated setting. Don’t miss out on this special occasion to connect with other like-minded individuals in City Chic elegant attire of purple, gold, and/or black. Reserve your spot today and get ready for a memorable experience!

“The event’s name, The Purple Reign Luncheon, was chosen for the historical significance of the color purple. In October 1987, the first Domestic Violence Awareness Month saw widespread adoption of purple clothing, a tradition that has since solidified purple as the color of domestic violence awareness. The color purple evolved from the earlier use of lavender by domestic violence organizations.

‘Reign’ reflects the luncheon’s highlight: the honoring of the EXcelevating Crown Jewels, domestic violence survivors who are precious and invaluable, like jewels in a crown.

‘Luncheon’ signifies the grandeur of the festive occasion with City Chic elegance serving as an extravagant gathering for our esteemed Crown Jewels to feast.”

Pre-Luncheon Festivities:

An elegant Mimosa Network and Social Hour, an opportunity to mingle and connect. This gathering is perfect for those looking to expand their social circle and engage in meaningful conversations.

A variety of small businesses will set up tables to showcase their products and services. Attendees can explore a diverse range of offerings.

DJ Chromeblazin will spin smooth music while the ladies network, shop, take photos and 360 videos.

Luncheon Speakers:

Christina expect the organization to continue to be a valued resource in not just the community of Humble but even to go beyond that since we do serve individuals outside of just the area of Humble proper and to really become more of a strategic partner and a thought leader, not only when it comes to domestic violence and sexual assault but looking holistically at how people become empowered to improve their lives and have a better experience and become more self-sufficient so that they can really enjoy the best life possible for them.

LaShanda Loughridge, M.Ed.

LaShanda graduated from Westfield High School in 1999. She pursued higher education at Lone Star College with an Associate of Arts in Teaching in 2009, from the University of Houston with a Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (Certified EC – 6 Generalist and Special Education EC – 12) in 2011, and a Master of Education degree in Exceptionality as an Educational Diagnostician from the University of St. Thomas in 2016. LaShanda has previousexperience in law enforcement as a Tele-communicator in Houston. As her children got older, she decided to make a career change to be able to accommodate her children’s needs and ventured into education in 2008. This began with becoming an Educational Aide, gradually a teacher, and eventually an Educational Diagnostician – her ultimate career goal. She works as an Educational Diagnostician for a local school district in Houston. She also launched her own company named J’s Evaluations in October 2020, offering services of psycho-educational evaluations, consultations, and advocacy for special needs.

LaShanda is a lover at heart and has a special love for those with disabilities, women – particularly young mothers, and the roles/changes of being a woman. She unapologetically shares her testimony and also advocates for mental health care. LaShanda has made a declaration to be a voice to speak to the life inside of us that we suppress, due to feelings of inadequacy, trauma, and challenges that arise. She strongly believes that being whole consists of addressing all aspects of your inner self, physical, spiritual, emotional, and mental. LaShanda has recently launched a podcast, a women’s support group, and has released her first book with great anticipation to help someone challenge themselves to live an abundant life by being wholesome to themselves first before they can be of any benefit to anyone else. Her motto is, “You can’t change your past, but you can work towards being a better you for your future!”
