ABOUT THE SESSION: This Advanced Story-based Equipping session continues the equipping process for facilitators in using the oral approach. Skills acquired at the Initial session and during the practicum will be strengthened and expanded in the following ways:

Review the core lessons

Practice facilitate to further grow as an effective facilitator in the story-based method

Cover some more supplemental lessons in the story-based method

Further explore other exercises

Introduce contextualization of materials and various translation scenarios used with groups that do not already have Scripture or prefer story-based learning

The goal by the end of this session is to become a Healing Group Facilitator, and possibly a Training Facilitator in the Story-based Trauma Healing method. Similar to the Initial equipping, in this Advanced equipping participants will be evaluated throughout the session in the following areas:

Self-awareness of impact on others and the ability to interact well in a group

Overall emotional well-being

Demonstrating greater understanding of the story-based approach and how content is delivered and engaged with by participants in that format

More practice facilitating a group in a participatory way with feedback on your strengths and suggestions to address areas needing improvement.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS FOR ATTENDANCE: Participants MUST have successfully completed an Story-based Initial Equipping session and be certified at least to the level of Apprentice Facilitator in the Story-based Trauma Healing Institute program. They should have completed at least one Story-based Healing Group. No exceptions will be allowed.
