Sholeh Janati is a local renowned Persian-American artist whom creates abstractions of landscapes, waterscapes, and figuratives.

5-7PM / HOSTED IN THE J GALLERY AT THE J HOUSE GREENWICH

Tickets are $15.00 per person and includes one glass of wine and passed hors d’oeurves.

A portion of our proceeds will be donated to the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital.

The Y2K Retrospective: The Artist’s Classic Works from Early-2000s

The special event is a curated exhibition of Sholeh Janati’s large size creations from the beginning of the new millennium. Featuring dozens of the artist’s personal favorites from her collections – several of which will be displayed for the first time in over 20 years. This will include her internationally displayed and award-winning paintings such as “The City of Sex & Finance”, “What Might Have Been”, and “Blue Rendezvous” along with many others.

The Artist Talk will take place at 6:30pm.

About the Artist:

Sholeh Janati is a renowned Persian-American artist whose abstractions of landscapes, waterscapes, and figuratives that critics have compared to the works of post-war abstractionist painters such as Chagall, Kandinsky, Hofmann and Frankenthaler.

Her technique involves a spontaneous approach, typically working in her Westport, Connecticut studio on two or three canvases at a time.

A Janati painting invariably features a broad-stroke brush style; layered textures reflecting an enhanced field of depth; and a spatial illusion achieved through the “push and pull” of dreamlike colors, shapes and placement.

In addition to the large interactive pieces for which she is renown, Sholeh also creates smaller, more affordable collectables on a biannual basis. Such works-on-paper include the highly-popular Goldfish and Juicy Lips series.
