
San Cristobal: 3 Days Nature Tour Southern Selva Lacandona – Lagunas de Montebello National Park, Mexico

EXPERIENCE:
Day 1:
We’ll depart early from San Cristóbal de Las Casas to visit the majestic El Chiflón waterfall, where you can marvel at its impressive 70-meter drop. Then, we’ll visit the picturesque Montebello Lakes before transferring to Campamento Río Ixcan. Here, you’ll spend the night next to the Lacantún River, accompanied by the sounds of howler monkeys. (Lunch and dinner included).
Day 2:
Early in the morning, we’ll embark on a motorboat journey on the Lacantún River, offering an opportunity to observe the rich flora and fauna of the Chiapas jungle. With a bit of luck, you might spot toucans and macaws soaring across the river. We’ll also take a jungle walk to visit some magnificent Ceiba trees. We’ll return to the tourist center and then drive for about 3.5 hours to visit the Bonampak archaeological site, home to some of the most impressive murals in the Maya world. Later, we’ll transfer to Campamento Río Lacanjá for an overnight stay deep in the jungle. (Breakfast, lunch, dinner included).
Day 3:
In the morning, we’ll visit the Roberto Barrios waterfalls for a refreshing experience before heading to the Palenque archaeological site, one of the most important cities in the Maya world. After exploring Palenque, we’ll return to San Cristóbal de Las Casas. (Breakfast included).
