Our neighborhood tour offers a peek into the area’s history and unique 18th and 19th-century architecture. Embark on a journey through the North, South, West End and explore the hidden historic sites.
EXPERIENCE:
Discover the City’s rich history on a Historic Neighborhoods Bike Tour with a one-on-one small group experience. Your tour guide will take you through the five distinctive districts of Portsmouth while stopping en route. You’ll pass by the Piscataqua River and through the beautifully preserved historic South End. From here, your guide will take you into other historic neighborhoods and off the beaten path to see a few hidden historic sites.
Meet your guide 30 minutes prior to your departure time to get fitted with your bike. You’ll hear a short briefing about the rules of the road, bike safety, and bike operation. Children and families are most welcome!

What to Expect:
At your selected departure time, meet 30 minutes before your tour start time to get fitted for a 21-speed hybrid comfort bike at the John Paul Jones Historic House, and embark on a bike tour of Portsmouth’s historic landmarks, monuments, and memorials.

Youth 20 and 24-inch bicycle (We request that the youth be able to ride for two hours, take directions from a guide and ride in a straight line. )
