EXPERIENCE

What is your dream Yellowstone photography adventure? We’d love to work with you to craft an experience to make that dream a reality!

Each private, bespoke tour is crafted exclusively for you. We will be traveling in our full-size SUV to several locations depending on your interests, whether landscapes, wildlife, or general photography, we’ve got you covered!

Yellowstone is 2.2 million acres in area and is one of the largest volcanoes on Earth. The park has a truly impressive array of geothermal features including more geysers than any other single place on the planet. Equally impressive is the park’s number and diversity of wildlife which is nearly unchanged from the time America was first colonized. All of this sits in the rugged Rocky Mountains surrounded by iconic landscapes!

Winter tours are limited by the park’s seasonal road closures. We will be visiting famous locations such as Mammoth Hot Springs, Undine Falls, Blacktail Butte, the Yellowstone and Lamar Rivers, the Lamar Valley, Soda Butte and Soda Butte Creek, Ice Box Canyon, Silver Gate, and Cooke City Montana. During winter, many of the large animals that call Yellowstone home will be in or near Gardiner and Mammoth Hot Springs as these areas receive much less snow than the interior of the park, creating excellent opportunities for viewing and photographing wildlife like bison, elk, mule deer, & bighorn sheep. But, being wild & free-roaming, they will be where we find them.

Our days typically begin before dawn so that we can take advantage of the magic of sunrise and the golden hour. We will pick you up at an agreed-upon location (typically in Gardiner, Montana), stopping to make photographs as you like and conditions allow. Please be aware that due to time limitations, weather, construction, and maintenance activities, or natural disasters, we won’t be able to visit every location in a single day. (We’ve been kicking around here for over 20 years and we still haven’t seen all of the park!)

We will have snacks, a picnic lunch, and water, and encourage you to bring your refillable water bottle to reduce plastic waste. In the winter our days are shorter and we will spend the entire day exploring Yellowstone’s Northern Range.

During the afternoon we will discuss conditions and your interests and select great locations to take the best advantage of late afternoon light and get set up for sunset photographs, weather permitting.

Finally, we will return you to our starting point sometime after dark having spent the day traveling through and photographing one of the most amazing places on Earth!
