Walking tour – St. George Manostery in Saranda – Vlorë County, Albania

EXPERIENCE

The tour starts in Saranda.
For the ones that like nature, short walks, history and photography is the best experience.
We drive for 25-30 min to reach the starting point. During the tour is possible to enjoy wild nature, communism heavy artillery bunkers build to protect the coast of southern part of Albania. The beautiful beaches and Ionian sea. half way we stop for a coffee and refreshment drink in a small local bar where we talk to local people.
We continue our way to St. George monastery that has a gorgeous view. Used during communism as a military base, but the architecture belong to the XIV century.
We visit the old church inside the monastery.
After the visit we catch up with the driver and drive back in Sarande.
