Vinicunca: Rainbow Mountain – Cusco, Peru

EXPERIENCE

Be picked up from your hotel before the sun rises and hop aboard a comfortable minivan for the 2-hour trip to the village of Cusipata. Fill up with a hearty breakfast before venturing to the trailhead at the Wasipata checkpoint.

Begin your hike following a sparkling stream where herds of alpacas and llamas lap up water. Admire breathtaking views of the Ausangate Mountain on the way to the top of Rainbow Mountain. Spend some time capturing pictures and explore the multi-colored beauty of the landscape.

Hit the trail again for the return hike back to the minivan at the Wasipata checkpoint. Head back to the village of Cusipata once you reach the minivan. Be greeted by a delicious buffet lunch in the mid-afternoon.

After lunch, travel back to Cusco and be dropped off near the main square in the early evening.
