Tulum-Akumal: Swimming with Whale Sharks Tour – Tulum, Mexico

EXPERIENCE:

Embark on a remarkable 11-hour journey from Tulum-Akumal to swim with the largest fish in the ocean – whale sharks. The adventure begins with convenient transportation from your hotel or condo in Puerto Aventuras-Akumal or the Tulum hotel zone. As you arrive at the marina, a light breakfast awaits before setting out for this awe-inspiring experience.

The package includes all the necessary equipment for the whale shark swimming excursion, providing you with snorkel gear, life jackets, and onboard refreshments. Please note that the whale shark marine park fee of $10 per person is not included in the prices.

Our team will take you from your accommodation to our private marina in Puerto Juarez, approximately 2 hours away from Cancun, where our boats are docked. If you’re staying in Tulum, the pickup is at your hotel’s lobby. For those in the hotel zone, the pickup is downtown at the San Francisco-Bancomer shopping mall at 5:30 am. A taxi ride to the pickup point is required.

Following the incredible whale shark encounter, we’ll visit the reefs in Isla Contoy or Isla Mujeres for an additional 40 minutes of snorkeling before heading back to the marina. Please be aware that open waters may sometimes be rough, and weather conditions can vary. The safety of our guests is our top priority, and if conditions are deemed too rough or dangerous, the tour will not proceed.

This is a natural activity, whale watching is not assured, but the activity and the places visited are made to be able to find them.
