EXPERIENCE:

Your local guide will meet either meet you at your hotel or at the tour starting point of St. James Park Underground Station. The walk starts by heading to St James’ Park, built by King Henry VIII and so the oldest Royal Park in London. The park is renowned for its wonderful variety of birds that live in and around the lake.

Next up you will visit the first of several Royal Palaces and walk a short distance to St. James’ Palace. This old palace used to be the residence of the monarch until 1837. These days it is occupied by Prince Charles, the Duchess of York and Prince Harry. From here you will walk along Londons primary ceremonial road, The Mall which leads to Buckingham Palace but before you get to the home of HRH Queen Elizabeth II, you will see Clarence House, a home with a lengthy Royal history that for many decades was the residence of the Queen Mother.

There is no avoiding the magnificent Buckingham Palace and you will stop here for a while to take some wonderful photos as you learn a little about the history of the palace and The Queen before you continue past the Royal Mews. Time to move on from this particular part of London, you head over to another Royal Park, Green Park and along Constitution Hill to a number of marvelous memorials and a fabulous monumental Arch with the largest bronze statue in Europe sat atop. After stopping at Number 1 London, an actual address of a great house that once belonged to the Duke of Wellington, you enter Hyde Park.

When in the middle of Hyde Park you can almost forget that you are in the middle of London with is acres of parkland, meadows, lakes and thousands of trees. It is little wonder that it was once a Royal hunting ground. You will visit the beautiful Serpentine before visiting the Princess Diana Memorial. Going back 150 years further you go on a little further to see the magnificent Prince Albert Memorial and neighboring Royal Hall before you finish this private guided tour passing through Kensington Gardens at the front gates of Kensington Palace, official London Royal residency of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
