EXPERIENCE:

If you are a history buff and if you want to learn more about the “archeological Lasagna” of Rome, or if you simply never had a local expert guiding you through the Great Beauty of Rome, this is the tour for you! With this walking tour you will go through 2000 years of history, having the chance to see some of the most incredible sites of the city that date back up to 20 years BC.
Meet your licensed local guide by the gate of Castel Sant’Angelo: named after the Archangel Michael, but originally built as the Mausoleum of Emperor Hadrian in 139 AD.
Cross the Pons Aelius, now known as the “Angel’s Bridge”, beautifully decorated by Gian Lorenzo Bernini and head to Piazza Navona: popular for the Fountain of the Four Rivers and the church of Sant’Agnese in Agone, it was once, in the 1st century AD, a stadium for athletic games built by Emperor Domitian.
The next stop is the Pantheon: pagan temple, catholic church, masterpiece of architecture and Mausoleum of some of the most important personalities of Italy, including Raphael.
From the Pantheon you will head south to see the most popular cat shelter of the city, which happens to be also the place where Julius Caesar was assassinated: the archeological area now called Largo Argentina.
After that it is time to see the Ghetto Ebraico, the Jewish District: the oldest jewish community of the western world is here in Rome and the Ghetto Ebraico is still the core of the Jewish-Roman community. Here you will see the main Synagogue, kosher restaurants, jewish schools, as well as an archeological area that dates back to the time of Octavian Augustus, where you will see the Portico di Ottavia and the Teatro Marcello (Marcellus theater).
Your final stop will be right after leaving the jewish district.
You will visit one of the seven hills of Rome: the Capitolium Hill, from which we get the word “capital”.
Home to the temple of Jupiter in Ancient Rome, it now houses the city hall and the Musei Capitolini.
The area was designed by Michelangelo and from the back of the City Hall you will enjoy an incredible view over the ruins of the Roman Forum.

At the end of this 2.5h walking tour you will be only 2 minutes walking distance from Piazza Venezia and the imposing Vittoriano (with a taxi station as well);
15 minutes walking distance from the Colosseum (Metro Line B – Colosseo);
20 minutes walking distance from Trastevere, one of the most popular food districts of the city;
20 minutes walking distance from the Spanish Steps (Metro Line A- Spagna);
20 minutes walking distance from Treni Fountain (Metro Line A – Barberini)
