Rome: City Highlights Evening Ebike Tour with Food and Wine – Rome, Italy

EXPERIENCE:

Explore the sights of Rome’s city center on a guided electric bike tour. Enjoy cycling on an easy-to-use e-bike, complete with an integrated light system to illuminate the monuments and light the way. Ride to the top of the Aventine Hill to watch the sunset.

From the Circus Maximus, get set up with a new e-bike, helmet, and other gear. After an explanation of how to use the bike, reach the first stop: the Belvedere of Romulo and Remo. This viewpoint overlooks the ancient Roman race track Circus Maximus and the Palatine Hill.

Continue to the top of the Aventine Hill, reaching the Garden of the Oranges. Arrive just in time for a quick look over downtown Rome as the sun sets before continuing on to the next stop: the Basilica of Santa Sabina.
This church is the oldest standing church in Rome with an extraordinary history. It was originally an imperial-era villa belonging to lady Sabina. Her home would become used as an informal meeting place for Christians, traces of which can still be seen embedded in the walls of the church.
After a quick look inside, cycle down to the riverside and through Trastevere to a trendy bar for an authentic roman aperitivo.

After a drink accompanied by freshly prepared pasta, salad, bruschetta and other dishes cross over onto the other side of the Tiber River, passing by the square of Campo di Fiori, once a site of executions. In the middle of the square sits the statue of Giorando Bruno, burnt on the stake by the church for heresy. Pass by Piazza Navona, the Pantheon and Church of St. Ignazio untill we reach the Trevi Fountain. After a short stop at each, begin your return journey passing through Piazza Venezia and the Monument of the Forefathers.

Cycle up to the top of the Capitoline Hill where we stop to admire a view of the Roman Forum from above. See the Piazza of our town hall designed by Michaelangelo and the buildings of the town council from the Renaissance
