EXPERIENCE

Start your day with a hotel pickup and a half-day trip to the south peninsula of the island. Visit the Orongo Ceremonial Village, an ancient sacred site nestled on the Rano Kau Crater. Then, see the Ahu Vinapu ceremonial site.

In the afternoon, go to the northwest part of the island to see the Puna Pau Quarry, where the islanders sourced the stone for the headdresses of the moai statues. Then, see 7 of the statues at the Ahu Akivi before visiting Tahai Village.

On the next day, get picked up from your hotel and take a full-day tour around the southeast and northeast parts of the island. Visit the Vaihu Complex, and Akahanga Village, where the first king of Rapa Nui is entombed.

Then, go to the Rano Raraku Quarry, which supplied most of the stone for the island’s statues. Stop for lunch at restaurant just in front of the quarry.

After lunch, stop at The Ahu Tongariki and admire its 15 moai statues, including the heaviest statue to ever be erected on the island. Then, visit the Te Pito Kura, where you can check out the largest moai statue ever built, measuring 10m tall.

Next, enjoy an hour of free time at Anakena Beach. Admire scenic views of a palm grove set against this white, sandy beach.
