Naples: Pompeii, Vesuvius and Wine Tasting Tour – Naples, Italy

EXPERIENCE:

Discover the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Pompeii, on an 8-hour round trip from Naples. Climb the volcano that left this ancient city covered in ash in 79 A.D., Mount Vesuvius, before sipping the delicious wine produced in the area.

Take a scenic drive along the highway from Naples to Mount Vesuvius, and enjoy the breathtaking views of the Gulf of Naples. Alight near the crater, and begin your walk to the summit to take a look inside the volcano.   

Descend Vesuvius to take a guided vineyard tour. Taste a range of local wines, and refuel with a lovely lunch made from local products, if you so choose.

Next, head to the ancient Roman city of Pompeii, which you’ll visit later in the day to avoid the traffic. Explore the largest archaeological site in the world for two hours at your own pace, and admire how well it is preserved.

The tour departs and ends either at your hotel, the Port of Naples, or Naples Central Train Station. Lunch and entrance to Pompeii are not included in the tour price.
