And to see a completely different side of Malaga, you should definitely adventure west along the Mediterranean. First, you will pass through the area of SOHO, the neighborhood of the arts. Look up and around as you go to enjoy some amazing street art murals painted by local and international artists. Cycling down the river Guadalmedina, you will see CAC- the Contemporary Art Museum. Well worth a visit, it is free of charge and there is bike parking outside. Continuing along the coast along the bike path, you will see vestiges of Malaga’s industrial past with old factory chimneys along the way.

After cycling along the beaches, it’s time to head up the River Guadalhorce and cross the longest wooden bridge in Europe. It really is spectacular! Following the path, you will then have the opportunity to visit the Nature Reserve. Park your bike at the bike parking at the gate and enjoy a relaxing walk around the lagoons. If you are lucky, you may even see flamingos! Picking up your bikes, you can follow the path over another bridge and then continue to the popular tourist town of Torremolinos. This is where tourism first started on the Costa del Sol in the 1950s. Safely cycle along the bike path next to the promenade.

If you want to head inland, then the cycle route to the Botanical Gardens of Malaga is a great route to bike. Cycling along safe bike paths for the majority of the route, you can be in the middle of nature in just half an hour. Bike parking is inside the gardens. Then why not cycle just one more kilometer to enjoy spectacular mountain and city views from the Limonero Dam. Enjoy the ride!
