Jubilee Year Tour – Lazio, Italy

EXPERIENCE:

The Jubilee is a great event in Rome! Exactly like 700 years ago (when the firs Jubilee was declared!) thousands of pilgrims, christians and tourist decide to visit Rome. Together, we will walk in the city center following the lives of the old popes and artists: which where the fights between them? Which Pope is considered the most enlighted and which one the worst in history? How artist became celebrities? What does it mean to declare a Jubilee for a Pope? Walking among the beauties, we will discover the history of rome, its scandals and its glory.
We will start from the Trevi Fountain, then we will see the Temple of Hadrian and the breath-taking church of St. Ignatius. After that, we’ll go to see one of the unknown masterpieces of Michelangelo in the Church of St.Maria sopra Minerva, where the great and revolutionary St. Cathrine of Siena is buried. We’ll admire the Pantheon, and the three masterpieces by Caravaggio in the Church of St. Louis. We will end our tour in Piazza Navona, where we will se the signs of the rivalry between Bernini and Borromini, but most of all the bloody legends about Pope Sisto V!!!
Together, we will visit the most beautiful churches of the city center, following the history of Rome across centuries: popes, saints, artists, scandals, aristocratic ladies and great heroes will be the protagonists of our tour!
