Buckingham Palace, Whilst Buckingham Palace is seen as the administrative hub of the Monarchy, it is also very much a family home, in addition to holding The Queen’s Gallery and the Royal Mews.
Westminster Abbey, The Abbey is a place that’s touched the lives of kings, queens, statesmen and soldiers, poets, priests, heroes and villains since 960AD. Westminster Abbey has been the coronation church since 1066 and is the resting place of more than 3,000 great Britons.
Big Ben, is probably the world’s most famous clock. That iconic silhouette is instantly recognizable and is one of the most Instagrammed landmarks on the planet.
The Palace of Westminster continues to be used as the seat of the United Kingdom’s two-chamber system of democracy.
London Eye, At 135m, The London Eye is the world’s largest cantilevered observation wheel. It was conceived and designed by Marks Barfield Architects and was launched in 2000. It has won over 85 awards for national and international tourism, outstanding architectural quality and engineering achievement.
St Paul’s cathedral, London’s most iconic architectural masterpiece, St Paul’s Cathedral is known for its world-famous dome that to this day dominates the skylines of the city. Aside from being ahead of its time in its architectural prowess, this Anglican church is also the seat of the Bishop of London.
London Bridge, London Bridge, as we know it today, was opened to traffic by The Late Queen Elizabeth II on 16 March 1973. Now made of concrete and steel, it replaced a 19th century stone arched bridge designed by Scottish civil engineer John Rennie, which in turn succeeded a 600-year-old stone-built structure.
Tower Bridge, When first built, Tower Bridge was the most sophisticated bascule bridge ever completed. The bascules were operated by hydraulics, using steam to power the enormous pumping engines. Today, the bascules are still operated by hydraulic power, but are driven by oil and electricity rather than steam.
Tower of London, As the most secure castle in the land, the Tower guarded royal possessions and even the royal family in times of war and rebellion. But for 500 years monarchs also used the Tower as a surprisingly luxurious palace. Throughout history, the Tower has also been a visible symbol of awe and fear.
