From Tirana: 3-Day Tour Vlore, Butrint, and Gjirokaster – Vlorë County, Albania

EXPERIENCE

Day 1:
Begin your journey with a pickup from your hotel in Tirana. On your way to Vlora, visit the Narta Lagoon, the island of Zvërnec, and its ancient Monastery of Saint Mary. Continue towards Vlora, where the Adriatic and Ionian Seas meet.
Explore the city of Vlora, known for its balmy year-round temperatures and very little rainfall. Visit the Flag’s Square and the Independence Monument. Take a walk in Muradie Neighbourhood, visit Vlore’s main mosque, and stroll along the Lungomare promenade. Enjoy some free time to relax by the sea, before driving to the wild rocky beaches of the Ionian Sea, also known as the Albanian Riviera. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure, exploring the area and tasting the delicious seafood cooked by the locals.

Day 2:

After breakfast, pass by the Llogara National Park and drive along the coastline of the Albanian Riviera. Stop at the beautiful castle of Ali Pasha at Porto Palermo, situated in the closed bay of Porto Palermo. Continue to the National Park of Butrint, part of the UNESCO World Heritage list. Explore the ruins of the most important archaeological site in Albania. After visiting Butrint, move towards Gjirokaster for an overnight stay.

Day 3:

Explore Gjirokaster, also known as “The Stone City,” part of the UNESCO World Heritage list. Pass by the medieval bazaar and visit one of the best-preserved houses of Gjirokaster. Drive back to Tirana, marking the end of your tour.
