From San Sebastian: Rioja Wine Tour – Basque Country, Spain

This tour features the Basque wine region called Rioja Alavesa. This area is home to the best wineries of Rioja. Along the way, find not only wine, but discover amazing historical places. The St. James route passes through the area with medieval villages where there will be a few stops. Also along the way, experience art, culture, and the best that Spain has to offer.

Leave from San Sebastian early in the morning. Upon arriving, taste the wines in some of the oldest wineries in Rioja Alavesa. After that, head to Laguardia Medieval village. Here, learn part of the history of La Rioja while you have time to eat pintxos and drink wine. Finally, visit a fourth winery in the area. All the wineries you are going to visit produce high quality wines with the traditional Rioja process.
