From Milan: Lake Como Small Group Tour with a Private Driver – Milan, Italy

EXPERIENCE:

This 9-hour small group guided tour will introduce to you the most famous lake of Italy – Lake Como, together with its remarkable villas and breathtaking panoramic view. The tour includes the private luxury transfer to/from Milan and reservations for one of the most important restaurants in Lake Como as well as an expert guide & visit of famous villas.

The guided tour starts near Piazza Duomo of Milan, where you will start your journey in a luxury Mercedes Car (with air conditioning and Wi-Fi) with a professional driver will drive you directly to Cernobbio, one of the most famous lakeside towns in Lake Como. The tour guide will introduce to you the history of Cernobbio, for which, since 19th century, has been reborn into a world-famous luxury resort destination. To introduce to our guest the most beautiful experience of Lake Como, we will prepare lunch reservation for our clients in Villa D’Este, which will allow clients to visit the renaissance interior design and garden of the Villa (if Villa D’Este is fully booked, we will suggest and book another place). Before becoming the global symbol of luxury hospitality, since 15th century, the Villa had always been the residence of the most noble Italian families.

After Cernobbio, you will enjoy a short boat ride to arrive at Como city center. From Como center, your guide will accompany you for a leisure walk along the lake to Villa Olmo. Villa Olmo was constructed after Villa d’Este in 18th century with neoclassic design. Its beauty is complemented with extensive and elegant lake front symmetric gardens, sculptures, fountains and immense English garden in the back. Being one of very limited Lake Como villas that remain opened to the public, Villa Olmo gives visitors the unique opportunity to admire the prestigious life style of Italian most privileged social class in the past.

Back to Como center, you will start to learn more about the Como city by itself. Como has a long history dated back even before Roman empire, was ruled by multiple Italian, German and Austrian emperors due to its strategic location. You will stop by the Duomo of Como, the last Gothic Duomo built in Italy and the most important religious site of the city. From Duomo of Como, you will continue to explore the city centers led by narrow marble streets through other important sites such as Piazza San Fedele, Via Vitani, Piazza Cavour.

To end a long, exciting day in Lake Como, you will take a funicular to Brunate (if it is open and is not too crowded), where you can enjoy the breathtaking panoramic view of lake Como and admire for all the destination you have visited during the day. From here, your private driver will pick you up and go straight back to Piazza Duomo in Milan. A different pickup & dropoff place can be arranged as well.
