From Cancun: Archaeological Day Trip to Tulum and Cobá - Cancun, Mexico
  • Anywhere

EXPERIENCE:

Depart Cancun and travel to the archaeological site of Tulum in the south of the Riviera Maya, and investigate a former port city of the Mayan civilization perched on the cliffs of the Caribbean Sea. Upon arrival, take a 45-minute guided tour of the site before some free time to explore the ruins on your own.

Next, climb aboard the coach at midday to travel to one of the sacred cenotes (open water sinkholes) of the Mayans. Experience the unique sensation of swimming close to a Mayan community. Then, break for a lunch of foods typical to the Yucatán Peninsula. Indulge your taste buds with dishes of pork, chicken, beef, quesadillas and salads. Get a complimentary bottled drink (water, soft drink or beer) with your meal.

Continue to Cobá to discover the tallest building of the Mayan civilization at one of their most important cities. Located approximately 45 kilometers inland from the Caribbean Sea, Cobá is one of the oldest Mayan sites yet found. Walk to the main pyramid building, admiring the lush scenery of trees and trails along the way. Rent a bicycle or take a 3-wheeled tricycle-taxi to explore with ease. Then, drive back to Cancun for your drop off at the end of the tour services.
