EXPERIENCE

Day 1: Arrive in Makassar and depart to Tana Toraja
Upon arrival at Hasanuddin Airport Makassar, you will be picked up by your tour guide. Head to Tana Toraja on an eight-hour drive, passing Buginese villages with typical houses on poles. On the way, visit a fishermen village in the Barru district with a beautiful beach panorama. If you’re lucky, you’ll see the traditional Buginese Pa’bagan fishing boats. In the afternoon, stop at Puncak Lakawan for a coffee break and enjoy the spectacular view of Mt Kabobong. Late in the afternoon, arrive in Rantepao, Tana Toraja. Stay overnight at the hotel. 

Day 2: Full-day Tana Toraja Tour
In the morning, visit Kete’ Kesu, a local Torajan village where you can find original traditional Tongkonan houses and their rice barns. Here see the giant tomb of the Kete’ Kesu royal family. Then, visit Lemo to see the hanging graves with their rows of Tau-Tau sculptures. Continue to Londa, a natural grave in a cave with entombed deceased. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Rantepao. After lunch, visit Bori’ to see ancient megalith stones which have existed for thousands of years. Afterwards, travel to the Tinombayo highland to enjoy the superb view of the rice terraces and Torajan local villages from the hill-top. Then visit Batutumonga where you can view the town of Rantepao. Finally, visit Lokomata where to find graves on a giant megalith stone. In the afternoon, return to the hotel for your overnight stay.

Day 3: Tana Toraja to Makassar
After breakfast, check out of your hotel and travel back to Makassar on the same road as day one. Lunch will be served at a seafood restaurant in Pare-Pare. In the afternoon, arrive in Makassar. Then transfer directly to Hasanuddin Airport Makassar to catch your flight for your next destination.
